PLT to EXP After June 15, EXP till 2008?

I did do a search and from my understanding (though much was quite old) if currently a PLT uppon reaching 100K after june 15th you will be EXP through Feb. 2008.
I just want to make sure because my wife has a trip she can take before June 15th or after. If she goes before she will be at 99,664 miles on June 14th and over 100K on June 16th. If she does the trip later this summer she won't hit 100K until July 5th. I wouldn't want her to loose that extra year cause AA changed the rules last week! thx.

The June 15th date only applies to challenges.

If you were to fly 100,000 miles by January 15th, 2006 you would get EXP through February 2008. Qualification by miles/segments/points is for the remainder of the current year and the next membership year.

If you earn (BIS) 100,000 miles, or 100,000 points, or reach 100 segments between Jan 1 and Dec 31 2006, you will have EXP status from that earning threshold date through to Feb 2008. No Jan 15th or July 15 involved.

Well thanks! I guess I'll have her change the routing by a few hundred miles and go ahead and make EXP now. Again, thanks.

Also be aware that if you get 125K EQMs/EQPs by December 31, you get the special EXP anniversary bonus. See here:

I think GregL was just using Jan 15 as an example. Taking it to the extreme, if you earn, say, all 100K points on Jan 1, you'd have EXP status for over two years without flight another flight.

Or, in your case, fly all of your 100 segments on Jan 1.

Cheers.

Now you've planted the seed for IceTrojan to try it next year. Good going.

It also be noted that the a challenge has to be started after June 15, not completed after June 15. OF course, in this case it doesn't matter.
Any Elite regular qualification from Jan 2006-Dec 2006 would result in the newly earned status through Feb 2008.

And the challenge start date for the 2nd half of the month is the 16th, not the 15th.
