systemwide upgrade info needed
A very newbie question...
What's the lowest fare class for which sytemwide upgrades may be used? Is there any co-pay associated with using these upgrades as with international mileage upgrades?
At the moment, I'm being forced to fly AA from LAX-DFW-SCL in economy, and am balking at the prospect. I recently zeroed out my AA FF account after switching over to United, and was looking to possibly do a trade using my United miles. Is the value typically the same as with UA SWUs -- i.e. 30,000 miles for one systemwide?

AA's SWUs are called EVIPs. There is no co-pay when upgrading with EVIPs. They seem to trade for 25,000-30,000 miles on Coupon Connection.

it's the same as mileage upgrades, so just about all published fares except:
Fares booked in I or O, or fares booked in Q between North America and Asia, Europe, India or South America are not upgradable
