Experience with ORD FL EXP Guest Policy?

I know that the official rule is one guest is allowed in the Flagship Lounge along with an eligible EXP member.

Has anyone tried to get an exception to bring a second guest into the facility? If so, were you successful?

I am passing through ORD this Friday (Dec. 31) enroute from BDL to BRU. I invited a friend to join me as I have a long layover. She has now invited another friend to come along, which is nice, but may force us all back to the AC, which would be a bummer as this is likely my only opportunity to take advantage of this EXP perk this year.

In the alternative, is there any solo EXP or other FL eligible traveler passing through ORD this Friday who would be willing to guest in my other friend?

Thanks!

A mutual friend.

Maybe if you wait outside 5-10 minutes, you can ask someone as they are walking in to 'sponsor' your friend's friend.

That's what I was thinking. Or buying a fully refundable F ticket to LHR for one of them.

Why not just wait outside the Flagship Lounge that day and wait for an person walking in alone and ask them to assist you with your plight. If your friends friend decides to add a friend or two, you may need to wait and sequester additional pax that day.

Shouldn't be a problem since you seem ok making this request on a bulletin board, making the request in person to strangers should be equally straightforward

Asking a fellow FTer for a favor is part of being in the FT community. I'd gladly do it for another FTer and would assume that most FTers would do the same if able.

^ On the money. I have in the past offered to escort non AC member FTers into the AC so they could check it out / experience it / whatever.

I have had an experience where the ORD AC allowed me 3 guests instead of the mandated 2. They just might let it slide.

Alternatively, what if you escorted one guest in, waited for a bit and escorted the other in? May be the person at the desk will not remember.

That's why I always have 2 big bright yellow FT tags on my hand luggage -

FT members are like gods without upgrade ability - easy lounge access and easy checkin..

I always wait outside a lounge for a few moments before enterring incase anyone looks like they might want to come in.

Having met a number of ORD FL staffers during the years I was EXP, that ain't terribly likely. They're good.

As for asking if another FTer will be there and will bring in a guest - that's been done lots of times. Nothing wrong with it. This is a community, not just a bunch of strangers who spend time on airplanes.

Earlier this year a real nice agent let me bring 3 friends into the LAX Admirals Club with my EXP card. I asked in the manner that I understood it was a huge imposition...."But if it's not too full could you....?" Once inside, there was no way to get more than one in the Flagship Lounge section.

Would this work?

Regarding getting 2 guests into the FL, I think if you told 'em nicely (and entertainingly) that last trip you didn't have any guests, and next trip you don't have any guests, but this trip you have TWO guests, so overall you're still one guest under quota when you consider all three trips together ... they just might allow it. Whatcha think?

Hey, YOU're an attorney, and you're asking US how to talk people into believing strange stories?
