Please Help With First Class Award Change

Is anyone aware of insurance that will cover the cost of award tickets? Now with all the allliance non-changeable, etc. awards once trip has been commenced I am worried about having to buy an expensive one way ticket home 
Last time I checked on this the insurance would only cover the cost of the ticket and since there was no "cost" wouldn't issue insurance (even tho' if I had to buy the ticket it would "cost" me $12000)
