Timing of award availability?

I hope this isn't a newb question (probably is )
Hoping to get a flight to Europe next May (2015). SEA-CDG

I know flights open up 331 days prior.. I'm wondering is award availability the best the day it's open? or are additional award seats become open later on?

i.e. i can book April 15th 2015 today. that's the latest date.
If i'm looking for a one way ticket on that day.. is award availability the very best it'll be today? or if i wait a while does more tickets open up?

Thanks!

It's fluid. Sometimes more open up, but for summer travel to Europe it'll never be great. I'd book what you can at 331 out and then watch to see if better routes, etc open for you. Changes are free...

It used to be that way - best availability at T-331. It's no longer the case. It can be anytime or never.
If you see something - grab it; you can always change the date or routing.
Or set up an alert on ExpertFlyer.

If trying to get SAAver AAwards at 331 days then I suggest looking after Midnight Dallas time.

Changes that do not modify the origin/destination are free of fees, just dependent on availability.
