ShAAremiles - new AA program

---AA INTRODUCES shareAAmiles AADVANTAGE PROGRAM---
American announced the launch of its new shareAAmiles program, which allows members of the AAdvantage Travel Awards Program to transfer miles to another member's account. The shareAAmiles program, available only online, allows members to transfer up to 60,000 miles total each year to other members' accounts. Members may receive up to 15,000 miles into their accounts annually. The program, which runs through Dec. 31, is open to all AAdvantage members worldwide, including employees. The transfer of miles from one member's account to another's can be completed online by accessing aa.com and selecting the Purchase Miles link, or by going directly to shareaamiles.points.com, then scrolling down to the shareAAmiles section. See aa.com for complete details.

I checked aa.com but a quick look did not find any details.

By the way, there is a hefty fee involved that you pay to transfer the miles.

Just sold 12000 miles on ebay using this new share miles program.

The buyer payed 300 for 12,000 miles, plus I made sure the buyer payed the $175 fee that AA charges.

So I made 2.5 cents per mile, and they payed almost 4 cents per mile.

$475 for 12,000 AA miles? A quick calculation gets me $989.58 per 25,000 miles at that rate. That much for a domestic PlanAAhead award just is no way worth it. They're better off just buying a ticket for less than half that amount, plus get the miles to boot. But congratulations on your sale.

I also notice people selling 25k miles reward. Are you allowed to do that without AA getting pissed?

Ummm, yeah.

Since you can buy 12k miles directly from AA for $300 and only pay a $25 transaction fee, this guy must not be very good at match if he paid $475 total for 12k miles.

I think you guys have just fallen victim to a troll. Juvenile spelling mistakes are a clue.
