Posting of AA points from TWA flights FYI
I did two trips from SMF via STL to MCO and
back last week for status on TWA. Rate was
$198 RT with upgrades complimentary. Here
is what posted: Base mile, plus status
bonus. Systemwide double and Roomy 1st and
2nd bonuses also posted immediately. The
later two were a pleasant surprise as by
other posts this was a ?. Clarification-
going for status on AA, not TWA. Just a FYI

RTW,
Did you receive 1.5 Q points per mile flown?

I realize your question was not directed at me, but I just had 2 TWA flights post from last Fri., 1 in coach & 1 in FC and I got full (i.e. 1 per mile) Q points for both but not 1.5 Q points for the upgraded flight. However, considering the flights were discounted coach, it was nice to get full points rather than the half points like on AA. HTH...

I knew this question was coming. As noted in
other areas receiving 1.5 Q points for
upgraded TWA flights is a pure gift when it
does appear. It is not a given that you will
get 1.5 Q points for your upgraded TWA
flights. Hope this makes sense.

Its been 50/50 for me. The times I've been the most sucessful is when I book my ticket on TWA using my Aviators number and then change it at the ticket counter at the last minute.
On AS flights, the ones I upgrade on usually get 1.5 q points, but maybe this is not unusual.
Since I qualify based on miles alone, its sort of moot.

4 TW segs, 2 AA segs (all on the same TW-issued ticket) posted today, finally. Comp. F upgrades on all 6. PLT, DBLAA, ROOMY bonuses all posted. ROOMY posted 2 RT bonuses, even though I flew 3 one-way trips. Shhhhhhh.
No "Xmas in October" on the q-points, though. (not like it makes a difference-94 segs and only 52K q-points YTD!)

SuperSlug I am buying a Business Class
(two cabin) ticket from LAX to SJD and back
(SJD is Los Cabos). Is it possible to get
a comp. upgrade on these AA flights if I
ticket via TWA? I can still purchase a
coach ticket for 3 day advance purchase.
Thanks

I wouldn't take my experience as a guarantee or a precedent; probably more like a burp in the system. There still seem to be many wrinkles that need to be ironed out. I have a feeling I inadvertently found one of them.
