Be careful what you wish for, you'll miss the MD's when they do evaporate.

Now back onto the thread, LAX-SYD.

However, I'd settle for being able to use SWU's on Qantas metal (like that would ever happen - even Qantas' own FF's have a horrible time with upgrades).

BOS-LHR (or make SWUs part of the joint venture with BA TATL)
ORD-DEL
ORD-HKG

STL-SFO
STL-SEA (Available now via AS codeshare)
STL-LAS

WN is the dominant carrier here now, and their fares reflect it.

GSO-ORD (I think it has been served in the past). Would fly AA more but don't feel like flying 800 miles to DFW to backtrack another 800 to GSO. Of course, I guess this won't matter once US and AA merge and I can via CLT conveniently.

As my fellow Austinites have already stated, I really think that AUS-MIA seems like an obvious gap.

In addition, I'd like to see:

DFW or LAX to SYD and HKG
MIA-JNB

AUS-LHR (Austin is trying to get a non-stop flight to Europe)
HKG-any AA hub
TPE-any AA hub
TLV-JFK

Of the routes out of AUS, I think MIA has the best chance of actually happening.
I would love AUS-MIA and AUS-DCA. I agree the MIA flight is the most likely.

I love the AS AUS-SEA flights - the times are decent and work well for me. I would like to see that route go to 2x/day.

AEX-CLT.

Huge amount of gov't fares ex-AEX from military personnel rotating out of the JRTC and DL is killing it with ten flights a day to/from Atlanta. AA is running eight flights a day to DFW and UA just cut from eight to six. Easier for AA to open up the route since they already have ground staff and a dedicated gate. And it'd make my life a lot easier trying to get to Florida, GA and the Carolinas.

+++1! ^

I really wish AA would get into the Africa / Middle East O&D markets. My 2x yearly flights to ADD are such a mess to put together to maximize EQM.

DXB or JNB would both really make that one a win.

Before US-AA completely merges, I think AA should have at least ROC-JFK in place. However, I highly doubt they will make that route especially when US serves ROC fairly well (LGA/BOS/DCA/PHL)

For anything to and from HKG, I think you won't see any progress until HKG says something different.

That could be a reason why CX resist open skies with US airlines, especially in this case, AA. What I didn't get was you already got DL and UA taking the market, so I didn't know what's the reason reason behind.

I would kill for MCI-LAX or MCI-MIA, more preferably the former.

I don't need an ORD-HKG route...I'd rather fly CX, honestly.

Open skies issues in HKG understood however that does not detract from the attraction of DFW-HKG flights on AA metal. And if ORD-HKG can justify expansion, AA should consider the option.

LAX-TPE as the current codeshare airline heads for another alliance.
AUS-MIA seems strange in its current omission.
As LATAM expands LAX//DFW-BOG begins to look more interesting

And I would probably like and accept AA code sharing MH on LAX-KUL and CX/MH flights into other SEAsia and Indian sub-continent destinations.

A couple of out of left field suggestions

DFW-LAX-AKL
MIA-REC-JNB would drastically reduce fuel cost. Get TAM to want to provide connecting Brazil flights and codeshare and do the political necessary to permit passenger TATL exBrazil. Using GIG would add 450 miles.

Happy wandering
