Orphan AA Miles

I have ~5600 AA miles left over from long ago when I lived near RDU, but I'm a UA guy now. Since I won't be flying AA in the forseeable future, I'd like to move them somewhere that makes the most sense. What's my best move?

AAdvantage has a program that enables you to donate miles to charity.

There are also periodic opportunities to use them for magazine subscriptions - though I vote for the charity option as well. The miles go to Kids In Need, a program that provides air transportation to seriously ill children and their families so they can receive medical care or make special wishes come true. AA adds a mile for every three you donate.
