Expiring Miles
Am I the only one who had trouble converting my miles to USAir Dividend Miles on 12/31? All of a sudden I was told there was a 21 day advance to do this and I waited too late and my almost 7000 miles would expire. I was so upset that I wrote letters to American and USAir and faxed it to them both before midnight EST! The letter re-requested what I was denied on the phone. American will not get any of my business in the future.

AA's website says, "Please allow 21 days from the date you claim an award with combined mileage to the date of your first award flight."
Which to me would mean that you could have claimed the award on Dec 31, so long as the flight wasn't within 21 days. Print it off the web page first, so you have some documentation, then fight'em....
