When did AA stop serving shrimp w/ cocktail sauce?

AA used to serve shrimp with cocktail sauce on some routes. When did they stop?

Last Thursday at 7am.

They were never a regular item on transcon flights.

I honestly can not remember having these with the last few years. (Not to mention old shrimp handled by airline caterers and stored on land, in trucks and onboard are not my favourite form of roulette.)

I had it last Friday on SNA-ORD. One would think this is a route-specific thing.

I've seen it served now and then. IIRC, once on RDU-ORD, once on DFW-LAX, and once on BOS-LAX dinner flights.

Personally I passed, though. Shrimp is an insect, and I don't eat bugs!

ROFL! Neither to Jews or Muslims... dietarily proscribed. I'm wary about their preparation and handling - old bugs = drippy tummy at best.

Lots of folks have allergies to shellfish and many more are risk adverse about eating 'elderly' shellfish.

I can be near shellfish without getting a reaction but some folks are so allergic they can't even be one seat away from someone eating shrimp.

The risk/reward for the airlines is obvious.

Moslems eat shrimp. Jews don't.

AA doesn't have cocktail sauce with shrimp when the caterers don't board it or the flight attendants serve it. Domestic 1st class dinner service.

If this is true I will avoid ordering Moslum meals on trans-ocean flights.

I can do vegan although it can be very high carb.

Sometimes Kosher is hard to get.

Evidently not that obvious, as I've been served shrimp on my last several flights in international J. I'm sure one of these days the roulette wheel will turn up double-zero, so to speak, but until then I find shrimp difficult to resist (even airplane shrimp).
