Thanks!
Neither of those is eligible for DEQ11 as is, so no triple points for them.

The LAX-DFW segment of LAX-DFW-ORD would qualify for TEQM if you also had a qualifying segment on the opposite-direction journey of the itinerary. But if the opposite-direction journey is ORD-STL-LAX, no dice. There's no qualifying segment there. A qualifying segment must have LAX or SFO at one end and DFW or ORD at the other end.

This is really a DEQ11 question that belongs in that thread, not the DEQAA thread.

Smile Help!

Hi - i'm trying to figure out the exact EQMs and actual miles I will earn on the following flights, I plan to do in January. I have registered for both the Double EQM plus the bonus Double EQM for CA,IL,TX residents, so I guess i get Triple EQMs?

I plan to do 5x round trips from BOS-DFW-LAX.

I am registered in Dallas (but only just updated my address after registering as I've only just moved to Dallas recently).

I have 0 status and 0 miles earned so far this year in AA.

1. How many actual miles to spend will i get in my AA account?
2. How many elite qualifying miles will i get?
3. If the fare is around $321 return, is it worth it?
4. Do you suggest I register for the Platinum challenge today (16th?)

I need to make a decision ASAP. Thanks so much in advance ;-)

BOS-DFW-BOS would only qualify for DEQAA and would be approx 6232EQM after bonus and 3116RDMs.
DFW-LAX-DFW would qualify for both and would be 7392EQM after bonus and 4928RDM.
For the whole RT you would get 13624 EQM and 2.3 CpEQM...which is pretty good.

I would not register for the plat challenge because you wont get enought EQP until the completion of the 4th RT, and will have gotten Plat with EQM after the 4th RT, so there is not point in paying the $240 fee.

Also after two RTs you will be gold and will be getting a 50% bonus on base mileage for RDMs.

1. You will get double RDM (actual miles you can spend) from BOS-DFW and DFW-BOS segments
2. You will get triple EQM on DFW-LAX and LAX-DFW
3. I would say it's worth it, a good value
4. I recommend the Plat challenge, but remember it goes by EQP which for cheap fares is 50% of the actual miles

Great help!

I'm doing my calcs here, please let me know if i'm right.

I plan to do 5x BOS-DFW-LAX round trips

13,624 EQMs / 8044 RDMs per trip (with no status)

---

2x trips = AA Gold = 27,248 EQMs / 16,088 RDMs

1.5x Trips (@ 50% bonus RDMs because AA Gold) = (8,044 + 4,022) x 1.5 = 18,099 RDMs

1.5x Trips (@ 100% bonus RDMs because AA Plat) = (8,044 + 4022 ) x 2.0 = 24,132 RDMs (i actually have 3,000 EQMs this year, so it should tip me into 50k at this point).

= 58,319 RDMs / 68,120 EQMs for 2012, if I get to 100,000 EQMs, i will get Exec Plat and in 2012 and it will renew for 2013, keeping exec plat through Feb 2014.

Total cost at $321 x 5 = $1,605 = 2.75c per RDM?

Remember that your status level won't increment until the bonus EQMs post. That isn't going to happen immediately you finish a RT; in fact, it may not happen until February. Even if it does happen in January, it's unlikely you'll get all the promo bonus EQMs before you've completed all your flying in January. You won't get the status-related bonus RDMs for flights until you've achieved the appropriate status level.

In other words, let's say you fly the first two of your RTs on a Monday and a Tuesday, the two that would technically earn enough EQMs to reach GLD. Then you fly your next two trips on Thursday and Friday. Unless a promo sweep has occurred between the first two trips and the subsequent trips, you're not going to earn any extra status-related bonus RDMs for those subsequent trips. And the same thing will happen for the increment from GLD to PLT.

So don't count on the status-related RDMs. It's unlikely you'll get all that you've calculated and, in fact, you may not get any, depending on how quickly you fly your five RTs and when the next sweep(s) occur.

That makes it a slightly less appealing 8,044 x 5 = 40,220 (@$1,605)
= 3.99c per RDM.... that'd be right?

Well you didnt calculate the 50% correctly as its based on flown miles before any promo bonus.

Assuming you get gold after two RTs, your RDM would be 48590 and 3.3CpRDM
Assuming you dont get gold, your RDM would be 40220 and 3.99 CpRDM

DEQAA Miles Post Slower than DEQ11?

First batch of DEQ11 DQM's just posted for the first of my 5 RT's in January. Still waiting for the DEQAA's to post (or just appear) for the first RT in the first week of Jan.

Is this similar to everyone else's experience?

Thanks in advance for any input.

What were your dates?
I flew my first DEQ11 flights this weekend and they did not post yet.

When you say "just posted," do you mean "within the last hour" or "some time in the last few days"?

Have Golds & Plats been seeing their 500-mile upgrade "sticker" mileage increment up from the bonus miles too?

Have you? I don't think double EQMs have ever also gone to MTEU.
