Aa 951 jfk - gru
Flying this route very soon. Every day I check to see if it departs and arrives on-time. Seems to be perpetually delayed (at least this past week). Is this driven solely b/c of the heavy evening departures from JFK? An hour departure delay seems to be standard.

I used to do this flight when it was a tag along to GIG. The a/c was always there and the crew ready. But it seemed like it was always late due to forever boarding, clearing countless standbys (likely mostly non revs), additional time loading bags and the like. Typically this flight is leaving well after the bank of flights to Europe have left. Occassionally with thunderstorms in the summer it will be in the tail end of the resulting traffic jam.

Usually on time
I fly this flight several times a month. Usually leaves on time and frequently gets in early. The 945 departure time is after the transatlantic departure peak so you normally will not have long taxi times.
In contrast, TAM's 740pm flight to GRU is almost always subject o 1+ hour taxi times.
