How much would you pay to extend your VIPs another year?

Interesting call from AA marketing this week, asking as an EXP how much would I pay to extend VIPs expiring in 2010 another year.

I told them maybe $99 at most, depending on if I needed to use them. Any thoughts???

I wish I ever had that problem ! I always use mine well before the end of the calendar year and usually end up with the opposite problem, needing more (and using miles/copay) to tide me over

Same here. I wish I could get miles instead of SWU's each year.

This year due to personal constraints I would go up to $500 because I will probably be unable to use most of my eVIPs. I stand a much better chance of using them the following year.

I suppose it depends on whether I re-qualified for EXP and whether they would still let me use them

$0. I earned 12 SWUs in 2008 and another 12 in 2009. All have been used or are earmarked for planned flights. In over 10 years, I've never had a problem using them before expiry.

Like wise

I wouldn't pay $25 to extend them; $10 maybe

I will use all mine (including the 4 extras this year) but, if hypothetically I had some unused ones, I think up to $100 per.
