Favorite AA Lounges in 2009

Since there are a lot of threads popping up asking about '09 expiriences, let's do one on AA lounges.

List lounges visited, favorite to least favorite, along with any comments. If you've got some OW lounges ito throw in the mix feel free to do so!

-BA LHR Term 5 J. ^^
-FRA AC. Feels like home! Great staff
-ORD AC. Home away from home.
-SAN AC. Only one irreg op this year, the staff was just outstanding!
-BA F lounge in JNB. Had a blast watching rugby with some S. Africans.
-MAD IB
-DFW (all of them)
-FRA IB
-LAX AC
-ORD FL Just ain't all that
-FRA BA J lounge
-BOS AC (due to construction)
-LHR FL

Favorites:
JFK FL
ORD AC
SNA AC (great staff)
LGA AC
DFW Terminal A and E AC
LAX AC (never been inside the FL)
FRA AC (small but cozy and also good staff)
GIG AC (for the views of the mountains)

Least favorites
GRU (too small, not enough showers and not particularly pleasant staff)
SFO (way too small and no showers but great staff)
EZE (too small, no showers)
ORD FL (too small, no showers but great food)

A couple of notes by no means by least favorites do I mean like "this place was a real dump" feeling. Also, I would put BOS on the least favorite because of the lack of space but that is being (or maybe by now has been) expanded. Also, SFO will be move into a bigger space with showers in Q1 2011.

Not an AA or OW lounge, but definitely my favourite lounge experience yet - The Concorde Room at LHR T5 prior to my LHR-YYZ leg in BA First at the end of September.

Other favourites, in no particular order:

Flagship Lounge ORD - I appreciate its small and cozy nature.
BA Galleries First LHR T5 - Champagne and bacon butties for breakfast!
CX F Lounge LHR T3 - Champagne and dim sum for breakfast!

For me: - (best first)

1) CCR in LHR T5
2) The Wing (CX F) at HKG T1
3) FL in ORD
4) AC in DFW Terminal D
5) BA Galleries in T3 is also nice

Worst lounges: -

1) AC in LHR T3 (yuke!)
2) IB in BCN Terminal B
3) AC in BOS

You're wrong - you are all wrong.

Hands down - ORD AC G (Ok, I'm a bit biased seeing as how I'm there 2-4 times a week, but the staff is wonderful.)

Honorable mention has to go to LGA AC and IAD AC -> both have gone out of their way to assist me.

BOS is low on my list as well - the weird portable AC that didn't work and cramming a zillion people in the place never helped either; but staff always smiled.

Keep the faith,

Pakse

The AC at HNL. They got a new TV this year. ^

JL First at NRT also gets a nod.

BA's First lounge at LHR T5 is pretty much unbeatable in my opinion. A fantastic place.

Being EXP for the first time this year, I was really looking forward to using the flagship lounges but have been left feeling quite disappointed. Nothing special about them at all and inferior even to BA's business class lounges.

AC @ EZE is too small and usually packed but it's the one I visit the most and the staff are always great.

Best in the system: NRT AC

Most frequented: ORD AC (H-K) & FL

Worst: LHR T3 (Pre-remodel...)

Fav:

-QF F lounge SYD
-ORD AC and FL
-BA J lounge LHR T5
-FRA AC

I know there isn't too much traffic but a shared AC/Mexicana lounge in PVR would be nice for me.

BA F lounge in T5, followed by F lounge in T3

CX F lounge at HKG (can't remember whether the Wing or Pier but the one with the cabanas!)

AA Flagship lounge in MIA - hands down the best FL IMO. Great selection of food and wine and terrific AAngels.

Many of my fave (AC/OW) lounges are listed above, especially BA T5 F and CX T3 F at LHR.

As always, DCA AC is top-notch. ^^

Let me also give a shout out to the AC to DFW B - always quiet, friendly welcome each time, plenty of room.

Favorite: STL (though I hardly ever get there) DFW terminal A is great for the treadmill and showers.

Least Favorite: YYZ. It can get quite crowded, but at least the maple leaf cookies are good.

My overall favourite is the BA F lounge at LHR T5.

My favourite AA lounges would be HNL and LHR T3 (the new lounge is a huge improvement over the old).

My worst would be crowded BOS.
