So it's ok to keep the pillow and the blanket? ;) I quite like the latter.

They are from Phiten. You can just buy similar ones from them

It won't be the same without those orange stitches. ;)

I've never seen anyone else wearing them either. In my experience, they don't advertise the availability on board or offer them. I guess that in reality they have to carry a certain number to cover F pax, but then the spares are available for business class. So maybe on your first flight they had a full F cabin?

The first flight was from an outstation back to Japan. They could have given most of them away on the outbound (daytime) flight. I don't think F was full on my flight.

The other possibility is that maybe the CA didn't understand you on your earlier flight. Previously, I asked for pyjamas and after a few blank looks was told they didn't have any on board. But then she came back 5 minutes later and asked if I meant パジャマ - and then she fetched some straight away.
The CA on the first flight did understand what I was asking for. She apologised again at the end of the flight and asked if I was able to relax without パジャマ. ;)

We were talking about the blanket.

OK so on page 1 (in 2010), people said that FAs explicitly told them that even the "new" cheaper PJs were for rental (borrow) only, and not to keep. And on page 2, people said that the PJs are for keep.

Which one is correct? Are the pajamas now for keep, although they used to be for rental (borrow)?

The sleepwear is yours to take home. This question has been answered in the Master Thread.

Actually it is not.

I asked the NH guy at the Mitsuwa demo recently at Arlington Heights, IL about the PJ issue, he said for the official policy, the PJ wasn't suppose to take home no matter F or C, but if one insist to keep it, then they can keep it.

Then they need to note as such on their website and inform CAs of this "policy" -- on every F flight I've been on, not only have I been allowed to take the sleepwear with me, the CAs have offered to find a fresh pair for me to keep!

Both were correct at time of posting.

Jan 2011 F: FA eagerly collected the PJs

Feb 2012 F: FA collected the PJs and offered (without me asking) a new, factory-sealed set for me to take home

Any change on this lately? I have just discovered this thread, and never knew about this - have an IOJ (NH11) flight coming up, this'll save me dragging my own with me!

Yes.
There are new "lounge wear" amenities for F that can be taken home, apparently they come with a bag.
The old pyjamas are now marked "available for rent" in IOJ business and only restricted numbers available.

Indeed, the purser eagerly encouraged me to take mine home with me earlier this week within the provided "bag" - a term which I use loosely as you'll see.

The new lounge wear is significantly softer than the prior, but still not something I'd likely be seen in outside of an ANA bird.

Agreed. I do like the new top better than the old one, but the bottoms leave a lot to be desired.
