Apologies for resurrecting an old thread.

I've flown on NH in Business a few times, most recently NRT-ORD in April but also between Europe and Japan and I've never been offered pajamas. Do you have to ask for them? I have a couple of overnight flights from/to FRA coming up and am just wondering.

No, I didn't choose NH because of pjs in Business. ;)

It used to be that there are only pyjamas in business of the routes with the new IOJ services (so not on NRT-ORD, but will be on NRT/HND-FRA). Just ask for them when the FAs settle you in your seat and they will bring the out to you when things quieten down. I don't think they offer them without a request.

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking forward to my first IOJ flights.

You must ask for them.
You would never even know they have them on offer - they make no mention of them whatsoever!

I flew in Business on the 77W yesterday. I asked for pajamas during boarding when an FA came to take my jacket to put in the wardrobe. She returned a few minutes later to apologise she was terribly sorry but other pax had already requested them and there were none left. They were so discreet I didn't see anyone receiving them except perhaps someone in a few rows in front of me (I was in row 10) but they couldn't have been carrying many pairs.

^ to NH for offering pjs in Business but :td: for only carrying a very limited number especially since they advertised them on their website.

Had I known I might not get them I would have taken more change of clothing than I did in my hand luggage.

Hmm, that's interesting news. I would have thought they'd have at least enough for half the cabin, but apparently not. I'll have to add this to the FAQ!

Quite interesting as you'd asked at time of boarding and not hours after take off. How early did the other passengers request them? On the jet bridge?

aussielori Aug 13, 2012 1:06 am

I am shocked that they would want to take back PJS.
I am flying them transpac soon.
I will have to remember to take my own pair of swiss.

And yes I have travelled on BA Vs Qantas as the Pjs were nice cotton and I absolutely love the swiss F ones.

The sleepwear is yours to keep if you are traveling in F (as well as C, according to the ANA website). So no need to be shocked (unless they don't have any for you, which is a bit disappointing).

I did board quite early for me but was obviously beaten by some passengers who had pre-booked pjs. ;) Or they had given most of them away on the outbound flight (which was a daytime flight)?

I'm waiting to board a redeye (NH203) to FRA in the HND ANA Lounge and have brought a cotton top and pants from Muji just in case. Let's see if they have any pjs this time.

tcook052 Aug 17, 2012 9:28 pm

Forgive the question but do most C passengers on NH change into pj's? I rarely ride up front and the times I bought an UG on UA didn't have any. Just curious. :)

NewbieRunner Aug 19, 2012 3:17 am

A pair of pajamas safely secured on HND-FRA last night but as far as I could see no one else in the second Business Class cabin (which was only about 2/3 full) was wearing them. Could it be because not many people knew they were available? They were definitely not new and duly returned to the FA at the end of the flight as I had no intention of adding them to my collection of airline PJs. ;)

The business class amenity web page mentioned by armagebedar does not say PJs were for rental only but then blankets and pillows appear in the same category.

I'm not sure if NH is the only airline which (sometimes) provides PJs in business but they were certainly appreciated as I don't like travelling on in the same clothes I've been wearing and sleeping in for 12+ hours.

My experience of first class is limited to LH and LX, but only about one half to 2/3 of passengers seem to change into PJs. I don't think UA provides PJs even in F.

Yeah, both the English and Japanese pages mention nothing about sleepwear rental (unlike the cardigan), so I assume that they're yours to keep.

So it's ok to keep the pillow and the blanket? ;) I quite like the latter.
