Alaska in late June....

I'm planning on going to Alaska the last week of June 2006 with my Dad. Neither of us have been there and I dont know how long to allow to see the sights. We will fly into Anchorage and have 7/8 days. Denali and Kenai Fjords are on the list, but what else. How long?

How long to allow in each place? 3 nights in Denali 2 at the Fjords? Can you get a boat tour as a walk up or do you need advance reservations?

The bus at Denali - is it best to reserve it for 2 days and not go the first day if it is rainy? Can you cancel?

Where to stay? Hotel Suggestions?

What kind of activities? Easy hikes? Is kayaking easy? (havent been for 20 years and that was on a lake).

What type of weather is normal at the end of June - looked at 2 guides got 2 different answers.

Thanks for any advice.

Camp Denali

Thought I'd posted this but it didn't appear.

Consider this if you've got 3 nights:

Great staff and guests.

One bit of advice: skip the Alaska Railroad - long trip, slow (although I was on the first train after tracks had been washed out in a flood so that added to the length of the trip) - maybe consider the railroad one way - but next time I'd fly from Anchorage to Denali.

If you're interested, PM me.
