Well I'm here. Drove from Laramie to Billiings to Kalispell, through the Kootenay and Jasper Ice Fields ("World's most bueatiful highway" for a reason!) , Grand Cache, Whitehorse and on to Anchorage. Tried to travel like the "Millionare Next Door"...as cheaply as possible. My half-ton Ford made about 18 mpg and I spent about $5-600 on fuel. $1C/Liter in Canada. Ate out only twice and slept in campgrounds. Just an awesome trip. ALCAN is really upgraded and spectular in some places, ant-climatic in others. Not really challenging driving. Probably will return through Prince George BC October for variety.

I'm working in Moose Pass doing reconnasance and surveying for the USFS on the Ididarod Trail which will run from Seward to Nome and will be completed in total in a few years. The terrain is very difficult because of the brush, but I'm still in paradise, and feel the need to pinch myself ocassionally to see if this is really true.

The Kenai peninsula is one the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Snow covered peaks everywhere and glacial lakes...some with icebergs. This backpacker nirvana with super trails everywhere. I just don't know where to begin.

My world has been turned upside down and is somehow right side up! ^ ^
