Seeing Northern Lights in Alaska
Hi. I'm trying to plan a trip, primarily to see the Northern Lights. I've been to various cities in Alaska during the summer (Anchorage, Barrow, Ketchikan) but want to go this time in winter.
If I went to Fairbanks in January, how good would my chances be of seeing the lights?
If I go, I would probably have 3 nights there - given clouds, atmospheric variations, is this enough nights to be reasonably sure of seeing them?
Thanks.

Probably but not definitely. You may want to check out the forecasts from time to time to get a general idea of location and type of activity.
