renting a car

renting a car

i want to rent a car in Juneau drive it for 10-14 days and then return it in Fairbanks. does anyone know how to do this cheap? is it better to rent in haines instead of Juneau? any suggestions?

Welcome to FT.

I think you need to just check the various companies and see which one offers the best options. When are you planning on the rental?

I did a quick check and it looks like Juneau will be cheaper than Haines or Skagway but then you need to pay the ferry cost to get the car to Haines or Skagway. So check the options. You will pay pretty dearly for the one-way drop though,.

yes that's exactly what i've been doing. am leaving at the end of June. i think i may have to return and rent new cars a few times to make it a little cheaper.
Juneau is much cheaper with more options. the ferry is around $150 including two people in the car. thanks for the post.
