F dinner menu ORD -> ANC Jan 2008
Occasionally people ask what the dinner service is in F. Here is a verbatim typing of the dinner menu from January 29, 2008, for AS 131 ORD-ANC.
Appetizer Salad
Chilled Prawns on a bed of Gourmet Mixed Greens
Cherry Tomatoes
Asian Vinaigrette
Warmed Rustic Bread with Butter
Choice of Entrees
Grilled Chicken Breast with a Honey Roasted Garlic and Pepper Sauce
Oven Roasted Potato Medley
Grilled Vegetables
~or~
Roast Pork Loin in a Demi Glace Wine Sauce
Jalapeno Cheddar Mashed Potatoes
Roasted Vegetables
We feature Northwest and California Wines
Dessert
Ice Cream Sundae
Gourmet Topping, Chopped Nuts, Whipped Cream and a Maraschino Cherry
* Chicago to Anchorage serves a Chocolate Raspberry Cream Cheese Brownie with Whipped Cream
The jalapeno cheddar mashed potatoes and bread were excellent, the salad good but the dressing sweet for me, the roasted vegetables decent, and the brownie very good. (I'm vegetarian, so I can't speak to the meat or prawns.) The wines were uninteresting enough to me that I stuck with mixed drinks.
Overall, it made the approximately three hour late arrival more tolerable, but I'd have traded it for an on-time arrival.

The ANC-ORD Menu Is Almost Identical...
The ANC-ORD menu is quite similar to the menu you posted, except for the part about food actually being served.
Mind you, the garlic chicken is so vile, I'd rather be on AS' Redeye DarfurDiet(tm) than have a plate of that poultry-related nastiness placed in front of me. The pork loin isn't bad though.

I don't remember which chicken entree I had on my recent EWR-SEA, but I do remember thinking it was pretty good. If there was garlic, it was mild. There also used to be a really good barbeque chicken entree they'd serve up front. The sundae was also good, and not too heavy.
