AS 188 ANC-SEA 1/2/24 Scrambled Eggs and Bacon with Roasted Potatoes, Croissant and Strawberry Jam. Light but filling. More than I could eat after stuffing myself at the ANC AL before the flight. Bloody Mary on the side.

Snack basket came around an hour or so prior to landing.

Flight 821 SAN LIH, actually in December 2023 but that thread is closed.

Catered for three rows of F, I was in row 4, so I got a fruit and cheese plate, a NW deli pack, and later on a cheesecake that somebody with an actual meal didn't want. (Every leg of this trip had operational problems, it would have generated more customer care discount certs than there were legs if I'd bothered getting the late baggage cert on the last leg.)

We did get nuts and snack basket and full drink service before departure but considering we spent more than an hour waiting for what catering we got it makes sense.

1189 LAX-PDX 6 am departure

I had the breakfast sandwich. I didn't really like it. There's a kind of wet/slimy texture which I think is the cheese, contrasted with a cracker like english muffin. Also it's quite spicy for a breakfast dish - loaded with black pepper. I really like spicy food but this was misplaced for breakfast. Came with some grapes and apple slices.

FA was great.

On my two flights in the new year, there were no boxed water at seat when boarding. Both flights did provide PDB though (which is rare…)

I have not seen the Best Day Kolsch non alcoholic beer before, which has apparently replaced the Schilling Cider on board.

- 1st round of drinks served with warm nuts
- I had preorder the Caribbean jerk chicken; enjoyed it this time and on previous flights
- I’m not a fan of the tiny apple pie pastry thing served as dessert on the tray, it’s dry and bland in my
opinion
- no snack basket offered, and refills were few and far between.

I found the Protein Plate with Curry Apricot Dip to be fresher than the Fruit and Cheese plate. Had them both on the same flight, the apples were definitely crispier. My new favorite.

AS 519, the 7a FLL-SEA. Nice to have five choices, but it’d be nice to have a non-egg (or fake egg) option besides the F&C on a transcon.
