2023 Year In Review

2023 recap email from Alaska. Only flight data for me (and every single original booking in main cabin, so no premium cabin bonus. Also no credit card earnings, no promotional bonus EQM etc.

Also the email includes a 15% discount on (1) future booking departing prior to mid February 2024. Not sure if discount is targeted or open to everyone.

Time flew and so did you! Let's take a look back at your year.

Looks like the discount code is generic and it is YIR2023 (assuming it stands for Year in Review)

Your stats look eerily similar to mine.

Theyre just drunk. I think every status holder got the 10% banner. My most visited airport is SEA but every Alaska flight I took started or ended in SFO…

Maybe they exclude your home airport - I think that’s why I have SEA.

Was it by chance the last trip you had before they “collected” this data? The small print says “All data as of 12/14/2023” and my last trip before the data was compiled was my only paid trip on as to SEA for the year… that’s all I can come up with.

No, I'm MVP and I have one (1) flight this year (SEA-LAS). No 10% banner. My most visited airport is... LAS.

It’s supposed to be “based on total Alaska miles flown.” All the 75k/100k friends I have got the banner despite being as low as 20k Alaska miles and as high as 120k. So it seems there’s only 2 buckets - top 10% or not top 10%. And it’s probably only based on your status and not actually based on total Alaska miles flown as they state.

I mean, flying 20,000 AS miles almost certainly is enough to be among the top 10% of individual flyers on Alaska... think how many different people fly once or twice a year, if that.

Precisely that, I believe. There are folks who just fly Alaska just for the annual trip to Hawaii or Cancun, or to Omaha every Thanksgiving, for example, to see family. I wouldn't be surprised if 3 or 4 RTs puts someone into the top 10%.

7,200 miles for me this year, and Alaska says I'm top 10%. I'm also curious where the threshold is.
