Highest FC Fare? Can You Beat $2544?

I was looking at some mileage run/quick trip tickets and ran across this one from SAN>OGG and got to wondering how high can the fares get? Fwiw, note the HORRIBLE 6.5 hour overnight layover. What's that equate to? 3-4 hours of sleep? How/why would anyone ever opt for this?

No idea if the bottom one is bookable... these are the fares for ANC-FAI today.

At that price, a limo from ANC to FAI would be cheaper!

They better be flying the A330 with a bed in J already for that price.

ANC > MIA on 12/24 in F for $13498.89. I only tried one route; I bet there are higher fares.

It doesn't seem like these will price out as AS doesn't have an F inventory bucket. The highest I could price out on ITA were J fares.

I’m not certain. All I opted for while searching was to ‘validate fares’.

For that price, I would drive down from Fairbanks, take you for a good meal and drive you back and deliver you to wherever in the Fairbanks area you wanted to go.

Jan 7 BOS-SFO is killer, luckily I managed to book something through SEA for ~$400, but even that's a lot for a one way.

1) A small subset of people just don't care and it doesn't affect their budget one way or the other.

2) Published fares (not referring to this quoted screenshot, but generally) can be like the sign on the hotel door - the "maximum." And lest we forget that some discounted contract fares may be based upon a discount on a certain fare bucket within a booking class.

Not really, in my experience. My Sun 1/8/23 BOS-SFO was ~$250, and my Sun 1/2/22 BOS-SFO was ~$220.

well then to spell it out ... whenever the date of the JPM Healthcare conference is ... no banker will fly 1/2 for a meeting on 1/8
