AS says masks are optional on planes and at airports

Given that management was supportive of overturning the mandate, I'm not surprised this is the company position.

That said, given some of the asks of the AFA earlier in the year around in flight service, I am a little surprised they came to this conclusion this quickly. UA is keeping them for the time being, pending the outcome in the courts.

I showed the headline to the FA on my flight today, it was announced while I was in the air and she was very enthusiastically happy about the news!

Man am I glad to hear that. My experience with the AFA is that this was a leadership hot button. Thanks for the info.

Have all the food and beverage services been restored to pre-pandemic standards?

Currently in the air and the flight attendants just came through with a trash bag to throw away any unwanted masks.

This is outrageously short sighted and disappointing.
I get the pressure and the varied situations from city to city but could we at least wait for the actual CDC guidance to change?

Moderator Note

Well, it didn't take long for things to get punchy. A few off-topic, non-contributive and deliberately disruptive posts have been deleted. Posts here should somehow relate to AS and avoid mask politics. I'm sure that there already are threads on OMNI where rants would be welcome. Thanks.
