My guess is they're waiting to see what kind of response United and Southwest, Delta, American are getting before they make any sort of formal policy decision.. I notice they are getting / ignoring questions about whether they will follow United's lead and require their employees to be vaccinated, so are probably doing some level of analysis as to whether it will be a benefit to their bottom line before determining a path forward.

Hawaiian and Frontier are the latest to follow United.

It looks like the answer to the question posed by the OP is a likely yes: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/11/alas...for-staff.html

Hallelujah! I assume this will self-select for those travellers who appreciate vaccinations (and vice versa), and a two-tier travel system will emerge!

Have fun flying Frontier. I hope that AS requires all employees have the vaccines which will keep us all safer. Nothing is 100%. My question is how will they enforce it? You do get the CDC card, but you don't get anything after getting any other vaccine, other than a bandage.

It's certainly possible to get an official record of your vaccine - most states offer consumer-facing portals to allow access to official state immunization registry records of your COVID (and most other) vaccines you've received. Data isn't always perfect, but certainly if a company wants to ask for this instead of a hand-printed card, most should be able to produce those records with just a few pieces of their own demographic data.

For example, CA here: https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/ and WA, AK, AZ, DC, LA, MD, MS, ND, WV here: https://myirmobile.com/

Yup, the data is there. Here in SF I use:

1. A screenshot of the CA/QR code
2. A jpg of my original vax card
3. A photocopy in my wallet of my vax card, should my phone die.

Just signed in and it was really simple. Couple of 'verify your...' steps to complete, but it found all my most recent vaccinations and included the official state document for proof I got my shots.

AK is not listed as one of the included states. What am I missing?

Looks like they're still working on getting it up and running for Alaska with no concrete timeline, but hopefully soon: https://www.alaskasnewssource.com/20...ation-records/

Well, Canada is going to require all passengers to be vaccinated (for domestic flights). I wonder if they will roll it out to include cross border flights. If that happens, then both employees and passengers will need to be vaccinated. It doesn't make sense to require vaccinated passenger on domestic flights but not on international.

If "proof of vaccination" is merely those CDC cards, I have heard that blank cards can be bought online, and nothing to stop someone from "filling it out" with fake dates and a pharma co name...

Considering the Governor of the state of Alaska and his complete distaste for supporting anything Covid-19 mitigation related, I will not hold my breath that AS will part of this program anytime soon. The article is from May 20 and still crickets from the state. It's not really that hard...

Of course. There is nothing or little to stop you from committing a variety of crimes, other than the threat of punishment.
