Qatar (QR) Award Booking and Availability (Available 7/29/2021)

AS frequent flyers supposed to be able to book Qatar flights with AS points in August. Anyone heard A) a specific date? B) details on AS points cost on QR flights?

Yes. My inside sources say booking will begin on 9/31, slightly behind schedule. Award chart would mirror AA and there is unlimited stopover.

My inside sources say a delay to February 30th and one BILLION miles. They also want to knife fight and asked me for money for more Night Train.

I assume you mean 8/31 since there are not 31 days un September. So do you think US-Europe awards will allow a connection in Doha or will they be priced separately?

Will that be for all OW airlines or just a few select airlines?

I strongly suspect the nonexistent date is intentional.

LOL my attempt at sarcasm was actually right on. Better book those CX and JL rate fast before AS harmonizes its tables. USA-DOH-MLE for 82.5K is not a bad deal if you can stopover at DOH. However I'm seeing a lot of 200k rate instead of 82.5k and this development of dynamic pricing for partner is worrisome.

I wouldn't be too worried about the "variable" pricing; it has more to do about saver vs non-saver space.

The $1700 fare SEA - DOH - BOM looks so much more attractive now!

If there is Saver availability, awards are offered at reasonable prices (e.g., Y-42.5K/J-85K US to Middle East). If there’s no Saver availability, it's crazy town pricing.

Awards to Europe don't appear to be available despite availability on SEA - DOH, DOH - Europe individual legs. Let's hope this is an error.
