Do alliance/partners report seats back to AS?

I went directly to YA to assign seats, but don't see them in my AS.

Lot of info missing here.

Do you mean AY (Finnair) and you bought something thru AS on AY?

Some airlines report that back, some don't. If it's an AY flight, AY's record are authoritative for that. Whatever AY says is where you're seated.

When it comes to the details of your flight, the operating carrier is definitive. What gate, departure time, boarding time, seats and entertainment selection. Anything supplied by any other channel is either derived from the operating carrier and is thus reliable or it is delayed or not so derived and is thus inaccurate. There is no way of telling. Hence, always refer to the operating carrier.

Award flight reserved through AS on AS points.

When I reserve SK through UA, my SK seats are reported back to UA.

And when you book AA or BA thru AS, they're reported back to AS. Every carrier is different, and it doesn't really matter what AS says. AY is the operating carrier, so what AY says is what matters.

Most of the time, the seat data comes back through AS.

I guess some do and some do not. Surprisingly, BA, a new alliance partner does not.
