Ironically, said lady in the seat in front of me requested a few cubes of ice for hers.

Ok! When did AS start flying TPAC?

Well, that is just the pits! Is that the reason for the "cold" shoulder?

Red wine should normally be drunk at 60-68 deg F.

Hopefully AS brings back liquor soon. I am happy to mix my own gin & tonic!

I prefer it at the lower end of the range, and find that most red wine is served too warm, at least in the USA.

I'd rather have a cold can than a warm can. [Mind out of gutter, please. I am referring to the wine.]

1991 out of ANC to five destinations (KHV/VVO/UUS/PKC/GDX), but only until 1998.

My favorite drink is free. My second favorite is cold.
I’m not a fan of warm bourbon but it has never stopped me.

I have flown 6 flights in the last week, five of them in F, there is just no reason not to be serving hard alcohol. If they don't want to mix them that is fine, just give me the mixer and the miniature bottle and I can do it myself. I am also seeing really inconsistent service up front. Some flights essentially just throw the boxed food at you and give you a beverage and are never seen again, others are very much providing F service in pre-covid style (except for the boxed food). As usual, QX is providing the best in flight service!

Alcohol is so over-rated. Coke Zero is where it’s at.

So happy to seeing these cans....

Possibly the most honest post in the history of Flyertalk. ♫ You can't always get what you want ... But if you try sometimes, well, you might find, You get what you need ♫

Does the “Complimentary premium beverage in the Main Cabin” still apply for Golds and 75Ks? Since the only premium beverage currently offered is the canned wine, that’s what I asked for the other day while seated in an exit row. I’ve been alternating between Premium and the exit rows this year, going with whichever offered more social distancing. Saturday was the first time I was turned down. The FA said I had to be in Premium to get the wine. “Even for Golds?” I asked. “Yes, even for Golds. You have to be in a Premium row.” They were about to move the cart, so I asked for my chocolate, which she gave me after checking her phone to verify my status.

it’s not cost cutting. It’s the FA’s. AFA at AS wields power like I’ve never seen. I spent 36 years at AS before leaving to run my business. The most vocal, pampered employee group at AS are the FA’s. As a retiree I have access to the AS employee web site and the employee communication regarding beverage service. This is 100% FA driven. They are arguably the best FA’s domestically, but they also rule the AS roost.
