What Routes Do You Want Alaska Airlines to Fly? (2019)

The title is says it all.

Possibly realistic
Seattle - Long Beach
Seattle - Islip
Portland - Denver

Aspirational
Seattle - Kangerlussuaq, Greenland - Munich. Kangerlussuaq could be a 40 minute refueling stop 4 days a week and a 60 minute stop with ticketed traffic 3 days a week.

Anchorage - Sapporo, Japan

Seattle - Fargo - LaGuardia

Bring Mexico City back, and second the PDX-DEN option.

Last time we did this thread I said I wanted SEA-PIT and I got it, so let's see if it works again:

Everywhere they fly out of Seattle, but from PAE.

Honestly I'd be happy if I could fly SFO-PHX when it wasn't spring training

Could we see some eastern Canada destinations? Id take YYZ, but would love YOW/YUL. I really feel AS needs to get a focus city further east to feed on both sides of the country. The had a shot with JFK and could use a few E75 there to feed from smaller destinations.

The revival of PDX-STL would be fantastic.

Another vote for PDX-DEN as well!

Something to do with DEN being a UA hub.

How about a semi-hub to semi-hub route for ALASKA and at least fly SFO-ANC seasonally?

It's a UA and WN hub which makes it impossible, bar ANC and SEA to actually keep their competitiveness. But if your focus cities are SAN/SFO/PDX/LAX you are going to have to at some point push for a route here and there. They cut the SFO route last year because of WN/F9/UA, but at some point you have to say okay we need to strive for one of those routes to work if we want these new focus cities to be that and CA people to take our airline.

That would be madness.

I second MEX and SJU. SFO is more useful to me than LAX, but Id take LAX if that was the deal. Also would love SEA-YYZ.

If were allowed to wish for truly insanely unlikely routes, my vote would be for flying around the Pacific out of HNL. PPT, GUM (via MAJ?) and HNL-PPG-AKL, here I come! 🤪
