ISO: Mileage Spending Inspiration/Ideas
I need mileage spending inspiration/ideas.
I have 143K AS miles available.
Two passengers to travel. Home airport SMF but willing to position within reason to get better award access (eg, LAS/SEA/LAX/SFO)
Also have ~150K DL, 70K UA, and a pile of AmEx that I can chip into, but my main focus is burning off my AS miles.
Willing to throw some cash around for either one passenger to have a cash ticket if absolutely necessary and the deal is right.
Travel date options: Xmas holiday, Spring Break (date TBD but likely late March/early April), mid-July to mid-August 2019
Travel duration: up to 10 days
Options we were considering:

Options we were considering:
- Hawaii or Mexico on AS round trip in Y (or if we can find a unicorn, saver F)
- Iceland on FI probably in Y, but not opposed to doing one ticket in J on miles and the other with $. Maybe play around with a trip to Norway or Sweden and take a KEF stopover.
- LAN to South America, one ticket in J on miles and the other with cash or maybe two one ways with miles and figure it out from there how to get home.
- QF to NZ, would need J or PE, so would have to throw some cash or other miles around probably
- Can CX PE be booked with AS miles? Maybe SIN or DPS or KUL...
- Look for two saver J on AA LAX/SFO-JFK, then use DL miles or $$ to fly to YHZ from there
- AA saver F to the Caribbean?

QF to NZ is a great idea for July during their low season. I did this last year and managed two J seats with some creative booking strategies. This will probably start showing up in award availability in a few months or so.
BTW - there can be some good one way paid flight deals on flights originating in NZ.
