If you're planning to purchase a last minute flight to SEA tomorrow on AS, it looks like you're only hope is a connection in GEG or RDM (at over $400 one-way)....yikes...PDX is going to be a zoo for the next few days....welcome to Spring Break in Oregon

Now that I think of it, the last time I got the rare VDB on AS was on the PDX-SEA route (during March I think).

Amtrak will be happy to take the OP's money on four of five trains tomorrow, if he has 3 1/2 hours.

I think Oregon is somewhat unique in having nearly all schools take the same week for spring break. The airlines certainly know about it. Even booking 11 months ahead the tickets are always pricey.

Some Deja Vu for you I knew this sounded familiar:

Is Every Flight From SEA-PDX Today Really Sold Out?

Washington is the same way. This whole mass exodus from the state really plays havoc on my schedule. At least in Phoenix it's spread out over a couple weeks, though we deal with everyone else's spring break for six weeks.

Invariably someone asks me to head to the office right before spring break and I don't realize until I say yes, go to book a flight out and find that I can't get home without paying some outrageous sum of money. It was $800 today to fly PDX-PHX on AA, while AS and WN were sold out. Wasn't cheap to fly home last night, but I was able to get a seat.

The gate last night for AS640 looked like the fall of Saigon.

Washington doesn't have schools all go out on spring break at the same time. It may vary over a 2-3 week period so be prepared for another busy day next weekend as well.

I have a award ticket to France on 3/25. I was able to book the SEA-CDG portion but no award availability EUG to SEA. I went ahead and resigned myself to buying tickets. The crazy thing was (and this was 10 months ago) Alaska was $288 for coach and Delta was $168 for FC. I am a long time GMVP but you can guess who got my business. :-)
