This one appears to be a consequence of AA married-segment logic. For the multi city search to work, both legs of the trip RIC-PHL and PHL-LHR have to independently have non-stop saver award space available. I did a search on AA... PHL-LHR does on 3/30, but RIC-PHL does not. Given the difficulty in finding AA trans-atlantic award space, I'd highly suggest booking the PHL-LHR that you did find available - as you can add the RIC-PHL segment if it becomes available later (or Amtrak it if not).
