I wonder if it's fixed, or having a coach AS segment in there is what did the trick.

I haven't tried. I was just remarking on what was showing on AS website for EK availability. No idea if it will book. If I ever get availability showing for the dates I need, I'll try to book and will report back.

So it appears the problem has been solved? I have not tried booking a premium EK seat, but wouldn't mind taking it on my way back from HKG in a few weeks.

hopefully for you but the message is still up on the AS site. Though looks like you will want to save those miles for future flights SQ - Though i bet EK awards will look cheap once that partnership is up and running.
