Does anyone else like redeyes? I feel like I'm in the minority when I say I like redeyes.

I don't like how I feel for two days afterward, but I do like the fact that they make eastbound travel possible without 'wasting a day'.

I hates them, I do, but sometimes they are a necessary evil.

(Can't really sleep upright and domestic transcon redeyes are only exceeded in my hate by domestic MIDcon redeyes.)

And PDX-PHX is still only one flight a day.

I'm going to assume its seasonal since this route typically goes down to 5 days a week in the winter.

As someone who doesn't have much trouble sleeping while upright, I appreciate not losing a day to travel, that only really works out if it's timed right and I can actually sleep for the majority of the flight. Last year I flew DL PDX-MSP-DCA, with the first segment being a redeye leaving at 12:30 or 1:00, and I nodded off not long after takeoff, woke up as we started descending, and then slept for almost the entirety of the connection too. B6's PDX redeyes leave earlier, though, and I always end up needing a nap or plenty of caffeine once I get to BOS.

Alaska is also changing SEA-SBA and PDX-AUS to mainline 737-800's this fall.
