JFK to FRA is still at 55k and while PHX - FRA is now 70k it still isn't bad. Unfortunately anything connecting seems to be off the wall ... I'll take that back

YVR - SEA - FRA on 7/24 (YVR-SEA in economy) is 70k while here the direct is 185k (on other dates I've seen the same 85k connecting and 260k direct from PHX ). Looks as if some tickects are saver "55/70k" and once they are sold they are going sky-high, but somehow this doesn't apply to connections

There are no or few "sweet spots" anymore with ANY of the award pricing. Very sad, AS. Asia pricing went south already, now Europe is following. Good thing I'm getting too old to travel!

Issue with ticket number attached to reservation

Seems like Condor's and Alaska Airlines' systems still have some issues. There was no ticket attached to my reservation for a flight FRA-SEA earlier this week, even though my wife — on the same flight and PNR — had a ticket attached to her reservation. Both of us had award tickets for business class.

The first clue I had there was a problem was that I could not check both of us in on the Condor mobile app the day prior to travel. Only her check in was successful. We then went to FRA to take part in Condor's late-night check in, and an automated check-in kiosk flagged me for "problem with ticket." It took three Condor reps at two counters to ultimately tell me there was no ticket attached to my reservation. I spent a half hour on the phone (Sunday night in Frankfurt, Sunday morning in the U.S.) with an AS rep and specialist with lots of time on hold. They said everything looked fine on their end, but pushed my ticket through again to Condor.

Then it showed up in Condor's system.

I finally got my boarding pass, more than an hour later. I was told by a Condor rep this happens from time to time with AS-issued tickets and, had we not resolved it the night before travel, I may not have made the flight. (Potentially, I could have been on the hook for buying a ticket to fly with my wife to travel the same day.)

What's frustrating is this appears to be the exact same thing that happened to both of us in March 2018, the last time we flew Condor FRA-SEA on AS-issued award tickets. At that time, the Condor staff took responsibility for figuring out why no tickets were attached to our reservations, resolved it and issued us boarding passes.

Because of that earlier 2018 experience, I took the initiative to call both Condor and AS shortly after we made these 2024 reservations to make sure there were tickets attached to the reservations. I was assured all was fine. But no. At least I had written down the ticket numbers and had them with me for reference.

In six years, you'd think this system disconnect would have been fixed. I've sent a letter to AS Customer Care outlining the issue, not asking for compensation, but to document it and suggest they need to deal with this issue if it's relatively common.

Still, I'm personally wary about booking on Condor through AS going forward. I'd advise anyone that, if they have problems with mobile or web check in for a Condor flight, to give themselves time to contact AS if the reason is no ticket is attached to a reservation so that ticket can be pushed through in time.

I had a similar weird problem a year ago with a FI-issued revenue ticket where the first segment was on AS. My wife, on the same PNR, was able to check in online, but it failed for me. We headed to the airport early and the TA was just confused and didn’t know what to do, but fortunately she found a colleague (at RDM, a small out station) who recognized what the problem was and knew how to get the help desk to fix it.

It seems AS’ integration issues aren’t limited to DE. Or maybe they are more universal (though I don’t recall ever having any issues with UA and their partners).
