"An Alaska Airlines jet flew from Seattle to San Francisco Tuesday fueled in part by corn, with a little assist from yeast. Alaska Flight 388, which landed at San Francisco International Airport just after 3 p.m., flew the popular two-hour route on a 20 percent blend of biofuel derived from South Dakota corn fermented by yeast."

As stated on King5, the biofuel costs 6x more than standard jet fuel.
United has been working on this for awhile and uses it on one of its flights. I am not sure what method/supplier they use compared to this.
