The posting on a.net states a second SEA-ATLANTA starts in August. Looks like AS is moving right into DL territory. The battle is heating up.

wow, looks like I won't have to fly Delta Juneau - Atlanta after all, since I can now get there and back without overnighting in Seattle.

Am I the only one who wishes they would bump up frequencies to important first-tier cities like PHL or ATL before opening weird long thin 4x/week routes to second-tier destinations like CHS?

Chances are they have some guarantees on SEA-CHS so it should be relatively low risk. How are they doing on SEA-ATL, I suspect DL is not rolling over on that route. SEA-PHL frequently sees a 739 and AA has ~4 flts a day in the summer. I think a 2nd frequency in the summer is possible but doubtful in the winter.

The Boeing plant in CHS makes it seem like a perfectly sensible candidate for a SEA nonstop to me (as AS notes in their press release).

The announcement states that AS is adding an extra ATL frequency in addition to these routes. Announcing new routes gets more attention than new frequencies.

WN already has seasonal service from Seattle to Nashville, so this isn't a new route for SeaTac, just Alaska.
