Million Mile achiever

I was on flight 640 from PDX to PHX on Wednesday and they made a gate announcement for a mileage plan member that would reach a million miles on the flight. They let him board first and gave him a card, then before we took off they made another announcement congratulating him. Poor guy wasn't even in F for his million mile flight though.

I would too, but at over 650K away, I have a while to save up for that flight. Hope there is still F class when I make it.

thats what does make it quite a feat. Its not 2500 but its probably about 2850. ORD/ANC and ANC/KOA are the longest routes

Million mile on AS is only AS flights. It appears on UA, DL and AA that you can get to a million on partners too. I am over 500k on AS and would for sure be well over 1m if they included partners. I wonder if AS will ever consider that? If I had known back then I probably would have done things differently.

I'm sure they did. This gives us more of an incentive to fly AS metal. And it works for me

Lifetime MVP Gold is worth a lot more than what the big three offer for a million miles. And I say that as someone with lifetime Delta Silver status (that I basically never use).

It took me about 25 years to reach 500k. With more long haul routes now, it should only take me 20 more years to join the big 1.0 club.
