What does it mean when I look at a flight and see 3 open seats in F on the seat map, but there are no F seats for sale nor are any available in the 'U' bucket? I've seen this occur on 3 of my flights in the last month and it has me scratching my head.

People purchased F or upgraded and elected not to choose seats.

Means F is sold. If they are not selling F seats then it doesn't matter how many seats are unassigned, they are all sold out or being held. The seat map is a very unreliable method for determining available F seats.

Nope. Lots of space in Y. I think the others are correct in that the seats are sold and 3 people just haven't selected their seats. I'd be all over it
