Its a problem common to the worldwide sky interior 737 fleet. The exit row window shades last about a week before they break and there are no spares to replace them. Boeing is redesigning them and until then has either little incentive to supply spares which are under warranty or just can't keep up. Also AS has little incentive to install any spares it may receive due to the manpower to install them and the potential for flight delay when they break and have to be deferred.

If that doesn't work and you need to block the sun, shove the safety card or something into the window. I've done it countless times on morning QX flights. You're bound to get some strange looks, but it works.

Flew on the 900er for the first time last night from IAH-SEA.
Plane still had a new smell to it.
Overall thought the seat was comfortable and maybe I was dreaming but the pitch doesn't seem to be as much as on an 800 (was in row 2). Maybe it is an illusion since the seats are a little bulkier.

Row 6
I have not yet flown on one of the new 900ER birds but have two booked now.
For Row 6, is it really a bulkhead like the older 900s or is it the curtain ala the -800s?
Seatguru says there is a bulkhead but I'm not sure if this is true.
Thanks!

Aside from the different style seats, it looks like a 73H with the SkyInterior.

It's just a curtain. Not even the partial solid bulkhead.

Based on the seat map, I am fairly sure I am on one of the new ER's on a SEA-FAI leg next week.
