AirTran CEO says he's happy that the proposed acquisition of YX was not successful. He goes on to say that Milwaukee is a good market for FL to expand on its own.

No real news here, but these are the most direct comments I've seen from FL on the result of the merger attempt.

Last year Bob admitted it was a blessing that they did not buy Midwest. I believe it was during the second quarter results teleconference call.

Fornaro can tell us whatever he wants us to believe.

We all know he and Joe Leonard would have wanted nothing more than 25 717s and to run YX and NWA right out of Milwaukee.

I'll be the first to admit, I am a convert, now loyal to AirTran, thanks to its expanded service in MKE. YX just can't compete anymore.
