Just got my new cards in the mail (was extended through 6/2015) -- here's the verbiage that I think is new vs. last year:

"Please note that the integration of Southwest Airlines and Airtran Airways is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2014. When the A+ Rewards Program ends, we will automatically extend your Elite status as an A-List Member in Rapid Rewards through the 2015 calendar year. More information regarding this transition will be forthcoming."

Not unexpected, and I'll try to enjoy the upgrades while they last...

That at least extends your status and is about as good as can be expected and better than I feared.

Mine is already extended into 2015, I wonder what will happen to me and other people who have already been extended into 2015.

Rough. I think I will be searching for another airline. Which means Delta out of ATL. Which means no benefits as being a basic medallion out of ATL on Delta you might as well be a nobody.

i was told by a flight attendant on a flight Thursday (Mar 6th) that they were giving the official last day for Air Tran. She said "transition day" is Dec 28th 2014. The last Air Tran fights will be on Dec 27th.
