Elite upgrade time
What is the time frame for calling & using credits for an upgrade for elites? Is it 48 hrs before the flight or 2 days before?
Thanks.
Thanks.

48hrs was extended "indefinately" for Elites after the Holiday auto-upgrade experiment of a couple years ago ended.
If anything has changed that policy since the merger a call to 800-AIR-TRAN should get you an answer.
Southwest bookings can't be upgraded to my knowledge.

It is two days before the flight.
As posted earlier it was extended to 2 days for Elite members.
EDIT:
I fly Airtran frequently and recently have been monitoring seat maps and bookings. Only once or twice during very high travel days has Business Class been full two days out.
I still get complimentary upgrades well over half the time.
I also see many unassigned seats in the main cabin up to several hours before flight time, indicating that many passengers don't bother to check in on line or until they get to the airport.
Call us at 1-888-3-A-PLUS-8 (1-888-327-5878) to reserve your upgrade to Business Class anytime beginning midnight the day prior to departure
