Want to use up expiring AT credits.

Hi, new here. Looked around a little, but couldn't find an answer to this. I want to simply use 5.5 credits up before they expire next week. Would like to book a O/W on AT using 8 credits.

I'm thinking I'll purchase 3000 SWA RR for a total of $82.50, and transfer them immediately to AT. The conversion would give me the 2.5 points I need. Purchasing 3 credits direct from AT would be $117. The first option seems the least expense alternative, plus it simply cleans things up nicely. Any foreseeable problems with this strategy?

Alternatively, would it be better to use these credits to upgrade?

Any other suggestions?

TIA

That should work.

You can also look in to transferring points from other partner programs like hotel programs into Southwest, if you have enough points there. The conversions vary and are not 1:1.

Thanks for the points suggestion. Didn't have anything to transfer, to speak of.

Purchased the extra points and booked the flight today. Smooth, no worries.

The prices made it nearly a toss up, but I figured I saved about $50. That's $50 that I can spend on something else .

Thank you for your response, it let me know that I was on the right track!!!
