I read this on USA Today, BWI to Austin? I think there should be more vetting at the ticket counter, captain or gate and exit rows should be able to board first. Almost like preboarding the exit row.

The link in the OP does not go to the article for me.
I read a couple of other articles on line but not too much information. Did he try to open a door or window? If a door the Exit Row has nothing to do with it.

Don't all these planes have exit doors that fit into the fuselage like plugs? You can't open those in flight, the pressure keeps the door in place. The strongest man alive wouldn't be able to budge it.

I certainly wouldn't want to be on a flight to test if the door can open or not in mid air.
