Code share complete

I read somewhere few days ago that all AirTran flights/destinations are now available on southwest.com, however, I've been wondering if the reverse is true, I. e. all Southwest flights are available on AirTran.com I'm curious to find out as I still have few hundred dollars left on an AirTran gift card, so it will make it much easier to use if I could pick Southwest flights as well - especially, with the decreasing number of FL flights. The only thing I'm seeing is a mix of FL/WN flights on AirTran.com as opposed to pure FL itineraries on southwest.com Thus, it appears one needs to have at least one FL flight in the itinerary to be able to book WN through AirTran.com

Also, if all WN flights are available through FL codeshares, then indirectly all WN inventory will be searchable through various outlets the way FL flights are currently made available, which increases distribution beyond southwest.com

Does anyone know if the new reservation system that is being developed for WN will keep the status quo and not allow WN flights to be booked elsewhere or will it finally make their scheduled flights available through other outlets?

Doubt they will change their mind. WN's res system wasn't the bottleneck.

Southwest does not always deliver the lowest fares all the time, so they prefer to stay out of the comparisons and push an "everyday low price" value proposition. Budget airlines have it drilled into you that their fare is always the cheapest.

Time will tell... If they actually make more money on better exposure that's hard to ignore.

The codeshare alone has them connecting new markets with more available connections.
