DUS - Hugo Junkers Lounge

Here some reports about Hugo Junkers lounge from different reports:

April 2017:
Hugo Junkers Lounge was as always, the do some work on it. We´ll see...

October 2016:
In Dus I first enjoyed Hugo Junkers Lounge. Included in my Flex tarif, but also available with Priority Pass. Same offering as always:

Far from great but not bad for a short visit.

September 2015:
Like more or less every journey from DUS it started at the „exclusive“ Hugo Junkers Lounge. Like I said in the past it´s an OK lounge with limited food offerings. Nothing to write home about....

The lounge dragons in this lounge are among the worst I have experienced.

Really? Had never a real problem. In fact they don’t even ask for your bording pass or ID when entering with PP.

What was the problem? They scanned/swiped my PP card, signed, done.

My only problem on a recent visit was they insisted the shower room was "out of service" and I got the impression they just didn't want to clean it.
They were doing some renovations it seemed (September 2017).

The Hugo Junkers lounge fdefinitely is among the most basic lounges I've visited in Europe.

Perfectly adequate for a short wait, but the food and drinks offering is rather limited.

FWIW, one can get small bottles of Mumm sparking wine by asking the kitchen attendants.

I don't know what lounges you are comparing it to, but it is completely comparable to other lounges I've been to in Europe - particularly those run by airports or contract operators. It's nicer than the lounges at TXL I've been to, pretty comparable to HAM.

Fair enough. I've mainly visited lounges run by various airlines and only tend to visit the airport operated lounges where no alternatives exist (e.g. many airports in Spain).

It's probably just that each time i'm there i think "it really wouldn't be too hard to turn this into a decent lounge"

Agree that it’s not great but it improved and I have seen more basic contract-lounges. Also LH Business lounge at DUS is not that better. Beside LH Senator lounge which I didn’t visit so far (no status or F-flight from DIS so far) only decent lounge at DUS is Emirates ones.

Is it possible to go to A from this lounge without passing through security once again?

It's better than the lounges at TXL or CGN but that is a low standard.

I always though the security screening station on Level 2 was for A passengers. Didn't know they didn't need to be screened. Anybody know what those stations on L2 are for?

They are for all passengers, but I never used them. The "tunnel" from A to B is definitively airside. It can be seen on the plan:
