Air Points Question

Hi, is there anyway to determine how many Air Points you need to fly business class from Houston to Auckland on Air New Zealand? Is it relatively easy to redeem? I can convert Bonvoy points to Air Points in anticipation of redeeming two round trip business class seats but I can not find out how many Bonvoy points is needed to get business class seats. Thanks for any help.

Are you a NZ Airpoints member now?
What is conversion rate Bonvoy points to Air Points?

https://www.airnewzealand.co.nz/spen...points-dollars
And because we like to keep things simple
Easy maths. Even easier to spend.
Every Airpoints Dollar you earn as a reward is worth NZD $1.

Using Airpoints Dollars for flights
See New Zealand and the world with your Airpoints Dollars™ when you fly with Air New Zealand, the Star Alliance or one of our partner airlines. When paying for a flight with your Airpoints Dollars™, any associated airport or government costs are payable by credit card, OneSmart card or POLi.

Edit
https://www.marriott.com/loyalty/red...ts-to-miles.mi
Air New Zealand Airpoints 200:1
So 200 bonvoy points gets you 1 NZ airpoints $
2,000,000 bonvoy points gets you 10,000 NZ airpoints $
AKL-HOU-AKL business looks to be about NZ$5,000 or more each way, (1 seat)
To me 4 Million bonvoy points would have more value elsewhere.(2 seats)

The chances of getting a reward seat opposed to using Airpoints to buy a seat is pretty close to nill

Reward inventory is the bare minimum required by *A contract it seems. So best bet is using air points to buy a seat which is the price listed on booking engine

Which means the chance of getting an reward seat with another airline ff miles is low to nil. Air NZ is know to be very stingy in releasing awards to other ff partners
However about 5 years ago I did get a CHC-AKL-SFO-SEA business class award on NZ/NZ/UA using UA ff miles. Booked 6 days before flight, Was very very lucky.

If wanting to go to NZ using ff miles need to look at airlines, other than Air NZ. Will depend on when wanting to go to NZ.

But will you spend 4million plus bonvoy points to get to NZ?
On current settings will be Oct before visitor's can enter NZ without 7 days self isolation. But those settings are likely to change.

Not correct. NZ will re-open from July for travellers from visa-waiver countries. Which covers a significant number.

What is not clear is when self-isolation will end completely.

The NZ govt web pages are changing. (I check & print some every day)
Not many people (visitors) will want to self isolate for ~7 days

Step 4 — By July 2022
The following fully vaccinated people can enter New Zealand and self-isolate upon arrival:
  • All travellers from Australia.
  • Visitors from countries who do not need a visa (visa waiver visitors).
  • Visitors from other countries who already hold a valid visitor visa.
  • From July, travellers arriving under the Accredited Employer Work Visa categories.

NZ has recently removed Marriott from their hotel partners page. I woudn't do it before finding out excatly what's going on to prevent your points being sent to the void.
